The staff are all super friendly, Nic is an amazing surf instructor who really encourages each person in the group and manages different levels really well - I felt super safe in the water, being a nervous swimmer and beginner surfer.
Marina’s yoga classes on the deck were a perfect balance to the surf lessons and catching glimpses of whales or dolphins were just the perfect little gifts each day!
I’d booked in for two days initially and stayed for 6!! I felt safe there being a solo traveller and enough space to do my own thing too! A real gem 💚

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a chilled place. Nick welcomed me and showed me around. Had good waves on Saturday morning. My room was super clean and very fresh. Awesome sea view too. Everything you need is there. Very good internet too, with strong wifi. The beach is literally 5 steps off the garden, with great things to do like pick mussels, throw a line, surf or spearfish depending on conditions. The main beach is around 200m to the right of the house. It's a really chilled vibe, and the perfect spot in my opinion. Shops are also nearby, which is great. Restaurants too.

Falling asleep to the sound of the waves and waking up with the ocean practically on your doorstep was magic. One of the best moments was climbing the tree to watch the sunset like a group of slightly unhinged teenagers before heading down for sundowners on the beach.

The place is rustic but had everything we needed — good vibes, salty air, endless laughs and the perfect setting to completely switch off. Safe, secure and peaceful… although peaceful might not be the word at 2am when we were still solving the world’s problems, laughing at absolutely nothing and surviving on snacks and bad decisions.

The hosts were amazing and made us feel completely at home. Somehow the weekend felt both relaxing and chaotic in the best possible way. We arrived stressed and left with headaches, overtired and already planning the next trip back.

Umzumbe Surf is one of those places that turns into a memory long before you’ve even packed the car to leave.

Came here in the off season to work remotely while enjoying the sunshine and beautiful beach right on the door step, and had such an amazing stay. WiFi is very good, accomodation is clean, well maintained and safe, and views are unreal. Shout out to amazing hosts Nick and Marina who made me feel so welcome!

This hidden jewel is everything you dream of for a little beach getaway with your family. We stayed at one of the bungalows, which was perfect for a family of four. The beach is really close, the vibe is great and and the hosts are friendly.
